COVID-19 Update

Are You High Risk for Severe COVID-19 and Eligible for Monoclonal antibody therapy?

The criteria for patients to be considered for Monoclonal Antibody infusion therapy are:

  • Test positive for SARS-CoV-2
  • Have at least mild symptoms for no more than seven days
  • Age 65 plus or less than 65 but have a chronic health problem that puts you at risk for severe COVID-19. These include obesity, diabetes, lung disease, and heart disease, among others.

Important:

Monoclonal antibody therapy needs to be given as soon as possible after symptoms start to work—ideally within 4 days and no longer than 7 days.

COVID-19 Scheduling Rules

  • We apologize in advance for the inconvenience and occasionally prolonged waiting times for sick visits. We want to guarantee the safety of our patients and staff.
  • Same day sick visits available, but please call the office and schedule your appointment.
  • No walk-ins visits are allowed.
  • If your child has COVID related symptoms or he/she was exposed to COVID, you will be requested to wait in the car.
  • You will receive a telephone call from a staff member that will give you instructions on how to proceed.
  • If your child is schedule for a Well Child Care and on the day of the appointment he/she develops any cough, congestion or fever, the appointment will be switched for a Sick visit and the Well Child Visit will be reschedule.

COVID VACCINE

Children need protection from COVID-19 for their health and the health of family and friends. Now that the COVID-19 vaccine is available to kids 12-years old and up, getting the vaccine is the best thing to do for your child's health. The vaccine is free and safe. Please call our office to schedule your child's COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

ATTENTION Patients with Medicaid Insurance

Medicaid Managed Care transformation has started. Standard Plans went live on July 1, 2021. You may change your primary care provider twice a year. You may do so by calling your health plan. You may also change your health plan one time before 9/30.  Click here for additional information.

HERE'S WHAT WE ARE DOING TO KEEP YOU SAFE

At Starlight Pediatrics, our patients' safety is our top priority. The following measures are being taken to ensure the safety of you and our staff:

Separate schedule for Well Child Care visits and Sick visits.

  • If your child has fever and cough, you will be placed on a telephone visit with one of our providers that will give you instructions on how to proceed.
  • Patients presenting with fever and cough at the clinic will be asked to remain in their cars and follow staff instructions.

Limiting visitors and companions. In an effort to promote physical distancing and reduce potential exposure, we are currently limiting the number of visitors and companions.

Masks mandatory for patients and staff. Wearing a face mask, regardless of symptoms, helps keep you and our staff safe during your visit.

Keeping all areas clean. We are maintaining robust cleaning procedures throughout the day, as well as doing a deep clean overnight.
